Professor Arnulf Hölscher received the Karl Heinrich Bauer Award of the German Society of Surgery on April 12, 2021 during the German Congress of Surgery in Mainz.

This Award is conferred every fourth year for achievements in surgical cancer research. The decoration was awarded for the clinical research work of Professor Hölscher on Esophageal and Gastric Cancer.
